Search and Filtering

Searching and filtering describes visual features in the web app and iFrame; they do not apply to the API.

The Patient Chart provides filtering, search, and sorting capabilities to help users locate relevant records within the available dataset. These tools operate at both global and section levels and are scoped to the data currently displayed in the chart.

Global Date Filtering

A global date range control is available at the chart level.

  • Applies across chart sections that display date-scoped records
  • Limits records to those within the selected date range
  • Persists while navigating between sections until cleared or updated

This control supports narrowing longitudinal data across the entire patient record.

Section-Level Filtering

Many chart sections provide filters specific to the data type.

  • Filter options are dynamically generated based on available data
  • Common filters include document type, status, source, or other attributes
  • Multiple filter values can be applied simultaneously

Filters apply only to the current section and are not retained when navigating to another section.

Keyword Search

Search functionality is available within supported sections.

  • Matches values within visible fields or metadata
  • Scope is limited to the current section
  • Clearing the search restores the full set of records

Search behavior may vary depending on whether the section uses a table or card layout.

Sorting

Sorting is available in sections that present data in a table format.

  • Columns can be sorted in ascending or descending order
  • Sorting applies only to the current section
  • Sorting does not affect other sections or underlying data

Behavior

  • Filtering, search, and sorting query the patient's already-processed data in the tenant; they do not initiate new upstream retrieval from external networks or a new ingestion workflow
  • Results reflect the current state of the processed dataset
